Dean celebrated his 9th birthday at Scooter’s Jungle last weekend. This place is incredible! A HUGE slide, several bouncing play yards, air hockey, and ping pong tables. The room was filled with laughter and bright big smiles.

He loves:

  • watering
  • throwing rocks
  • eating leaves
  • splashing in the water
  • exploring in the backyard
  • picking the petals off the flowers
  • playing with the hose

Thankfully, all of this exploring in the backyard gives me time to work!

I took a much needed break, from freelance, and headed to the Descanso Gardens with my family yesterday. The gardens in April are spectacular with tulips, iris and lilacs in full bloom.

I love stationery! I have designed so much of it over the years that I thought I would start sharing some of it. Since this blog is about sharing.

A client hired me to design some simple baby shower invites for her sister.

My son’s personal stationery.

Bridal shower note cards in sage + light purple.

We took our son to the Gentle Barn several weeks ago which has rescued over 100 animals from severe abuse. The foundation also specializes in programs for abused children, kids recovering from substance abuse, kids on probation, foster kids, and children and adults with mental, emotional, and physical challenges. (They are open to the public on Sundays. Check their website for information.)

Elliot is 2 months old and a very happy little guy. He is already sleeping a decent 6 to 8 hours, through the night, and immediately showered me with few smiles. Unfortunately, he wasn’t too keen on the wicker basket!

Many make the trek out to Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve during the peak season of mid-March to Mid-April in hopes of spectacular array of color. The reserve is nestled in the Antelope Buttes, near Lancaster, on the most consistent poppy-bearing land in the state. However, a lot of factors are involved for a specular poppy season and it has been a few years since I’ve seen the reserve’s hillsides in full bloom.
